What beer question listserver would you recommend for questions like this in the future. For example I often pose woodworking questions at http://theoak.com/cgi-bin/forum/general.pl? I'm sure a similar forum exists for brewers. Could you recommend one?

The best place for beer discussion is http://www.hbd.org/hbd, home of the original Homebrew Digest. A new version comes out every day or so. This site runs a whole series of running discussions, and has an extensive archive with a search engine. Another good place to check is the usenet newsgroup rec.crafts.brewing. For either site, most of the responses to a question are fairly accurate, but make sure you read several responses. Every once in a while one will be dead wrong.
